Managing & operating RSend BATCH

When considering the legal reporting domain, there was a drastical increase of obligations these last years, leaving declarer companies, but also the owners of the secure channels (ie SOFiE & e-file), from less to less time to implement these changes.

Until a few years ago, any forthcoming change in legal reporting was announced up to a year in advance, giving enough time to prepare. Nowadays, the pace has increased considerably, the time between the release of a circular and its practical implementation shortened, sometimes to just a few months.

The majority of the changes to be done in the domain of the legal reporting are now mainly done under the urgency flag

From an IT point of view, updating an automated applications in a production environment can be a critical task which doesn't well marry with urgency.

Based on these facts, we took some decisions regarding the architecture but also the licensing part of the RSend BATCH solution :

  • Use of C# under TFS/Azure for robust & direct (Windows) OS compatibility
  • Isolate the most important functions in a single application to avoid future update on it
  • Decompose less important functions in satelite tools reducing the number of critical mandatory updates
  • Portable application, no external/third party components (except S3 librairies included in the package)
  • New buckets creation (new reportings) 100% managed internally
  • Yearly renewed license based on volume, no notion of type/family of report, no bucket restrictions
  • Allow the testing of the solution (free trial offer)

RSend BATCH was developped with the intention to grant our customers a maximum of control for easier management, but also to minimize as much as possible stressful mandatory updates which have to be done under urgency.

At least, a good and bad news: no more certificate renewal with the S3 technology / RSend, but the BCL still use SOFiE & e-file as secure channels, obliging to maintain them. Will the BCL adopt, in the coming years, the same method than the CSSF ? Time will tell us.
